Respect his decision. It's a damn stupid decision! They've fought all this way, all these years of pain and suffering, for this decision--
Prompto lets out a ragged cry, a sound he barely recognizes as his own voice. With no choice (there's a choice, there's a choice by the Six, and they're letting this happen!) he takes the first shot. It's not even a good shot, not lined up, not anything like he'd been taught, but it doesn't matter. It still strikes true from hours on endless hours of muscle memory burned into him. It's full of anger, sorrow, frustration, both the sound and his shot, with the bullet burying in deep much to the anger to the Giant he attacked.
Gladio looks over briefly in surprise, then gives one more quick look in Ignis' direction before giving a battle cry of his own and leaping in there.
Trying to save them. Prompto is very certain that it's them that Noctis wants to save, not as much the world. It's why he's done everything, to try and do right, to make his father and everyone else proud... but now there's only them left. All Prompto ever wanted to do is make someone proud of him. He can understand, more than he thinks Gladio or Ignis really could.

Doesn't matter now.
Just see the dawn.
