Standing there, he realized how badly he missed it.
It wasn't like he didn't get any chance to skate, far from it. Noct always liked him around to practice with, even if, despite people's comments, he knew he wasn't as good as his friend. Noct always looked so utterly perfect, an almost lazy grace and strength that Prompto knew other skaters thought meant he didn't take the sport seriously but he knew Noct did, more than any of them.
But watching the skaters out there, getting his first chance to photograph a real expo, he missed this. Didn't matter though. He had never been good enough for the professionals, not after... that. He'd learned his lesson.
Instead he was on the sidelines, snagging pictures. He loved it, don't get him wrong. Being the youngest photographer there by probably a decade because he was considered that good? Yeah. Hell of an ego boost. In this he felt secure. And being able to photograph Insomnia's opening expo to the world? Well, it helped to be one of the skater's best friends. Not going to complain.
It was incredible! Everyone was so good! He might have sighed happily at how Noct looked in his outfit and makeup that Iggy had spent forever to do this morning. Couldn't ask for a better coach, really.
Once everything was said and done though, he was heading out to meet up with the guys, staring down at his camera and studying the best shots he'd gotten. The Russian had a few really good snaps... they would sell well!
Now if only he was looking where he was going...
